Telford and Wrekin Register Office

The Telford and Wrekin Register Office is part of the Wellington Library and Leisure Services complex just a couple of minutes’ walk from Wellington Town Centre. It is here that our experienced Registrar Team register births, deaths and marriages - along with conducting ceremonies in the stylish, contemporary Wrekin Suite.

If you live in the Telford and Wrekin area and are marrying or entering into a civil partnership, you will attend your notice appointment here. Our friendly staff are also on hand to answer any questions you may have, offering expert help and guidance in relation to organising special occasions such as weddings, vow renewal and baby naming ceremonies.

The Wrekin Suite

The Wrekin Suite was purpose built in order for us to host ceremonies for up to 60 guests, alongside offering statutory marriage and civil partnership appointments in the Register Office. The Wrekin Suite is a light, bright, airy space decorated in tasteful, neutral colours. Before your ceremony begins guests can assemble in our stunning atrium and following you will exit to the private courtyard before moving on for any further celebrations.

Offering great flexibility – the Wrekin Suite is a budget friendly option perfect for both simple, intimate ceremonies or as part of wider plans for those who want a reception or celebration somewhere other than one of approved venues. With a range of different ceremony options available at The Wrekin Suite – it has something for everyone!

Standard Ceremony

A standard legal ceremony is available hourly between 10am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm Monday to Thursday, for the couple and up to 60 guests. Guests enter the Wrekin Suite via the atrium and the wedding party exits into our private courtyard, extending congratulations with bio-degradable confetti and photographs if you wish! Included in the standard ceremony is a choice of set music options for entrance, signing and exit, which we will prepare and play for you.

Enhanced, Personalised Ceremony

An enhanced, personalised ceremony at the Wrekin Suite can take place on a Friday and Saturday at set times, with a slightly longer ceremony length. This is due to the greater ceremony choices available, including up to 2 readings, the addition of personal promises and music choices for entrance, signing and exit – be it from our prescribed list or something alternative of your choosing which we will prepare and play. As with the standard ceremony; we not only have private interview rooms but a welcoming atrium and private courtyard for confetti and photographs before you move on to any other celebrations you may have planned!

A statutory ceremony is also available in the Superintendent Registrar’s Office for the couple and 2 witnesses only. Limited availability at 9.30am on a Monday/Tuesday this ceremony is carried out in an office room, costing £57.
